I spoke with my mom a few times yesterday, but by the afternoon I was not able to get through to her. She was finally able to get a call to go through this evening to let me know they are okay. Baton Rouge is completely without electricity. There are 485 stop lights and every single one of them is out. The only lights at night come from LSU and the Exxon plant on the Mississippi River. Trees are down everywhere and a few of my mom's neighbors have large trees through their houses. All of my relatives have minimal damage to their homes, and I am so thankful they are okay. The long time weatherman, Pat Shingleton, said Hurricane Gustav was the worst storm to ever come through BR. Now the fun part begins...clean up and waiting for electricity. Please keep everyone in Hurricane Gustav's path in your prayers.

Morris W Wood United States on 9/3/2008 7:37 PM I pray everything will be corrected in Baton Rouge and they will get back to "normal".

The pictures of Miguelito are cuter than ever and I know that you are having "FUN" and staying very busy.  You will look back and wonder how you did it all, but try to enjoy the special moments as you watch him grow.  An just think there is more fun ahead.

My prayers are with you that you may enjoy life and the blessings and challenges it brings.

Papa

Melva Smarsh on 5/2/2010 1:13 AM Thank you for this excellent insightful site. Often times, the very best content come from the sources a person may not expect. Up unitll now, I didn't give much thought to leaving comments on web log posts and have left responses even less. Checking out your good blog post, might inspire me to take action again.
