There is this wise lady that I know, and she is a published authority on the trials, tribulations, and wonderfulness of motherhood. We chatted today, and after she validated my feelings of guilt and all that goes along with it she smirked and said, “My dear it is not selfishness, it is self-preservation.” So there you have it. Self-preservation, it’s my new mantra.
